The cinematic septet from Birmingham’s provocative songs intelligently weave together shimmering strings, soaring brass crescendos, bright grooves and floating fiddle melodies. In seven years of extensive UK and European touring, The Fair Rain’s appetite for new music and rhythms has evolved from their roots in traditional folk with an elegance and maturity beyond their years. It’s a journey which has seen the band receive accolades from press and audiences alike, including Songlines Top of the World (“Truly exciting, awe-inspiring music”) and The Scotsman’s Folk Album of the Year (“Ear bending and radiant”).
In 2015, the band changed their name from ‘The Old Dance School’ to ‘The Fair Rain’ ahead of their eagerly anticipated fourth studio release, ‘Behind The Glass’.
