Sarah and Richard of Paper Aeroplanes grew up 30 miles from each other along the coast of West Wales, in houses you could see the sea from. They spent their formative years walking on cold beaches, messing in rock pools and finding records in charity shops – a world, and two hour drive, away from the nearest music scene. Or Topshop.
After a substantial usage on BBC drama Lip Service and recent radio support from 6Music’s Lauren Laverne, Nemone & Cerys Matthews and Steve Lamacq & Bob Harris on Radio 2, Paper Aeroplanes have been very busy. The band have 3 headline tours under their belts and recent sell-out shows in London, Birmingham and Norwich.

A Comfortable Sleep EP Review
“Paper Aeroplanes are an oasis of gravity in a cultural desert of frivolity, of emotion in a cold hearted world. If you’re not in tears by the end of A Comfortable Sleep then you’re either a Stalinist dictator or a statue. 9/10 “ – Paul Kerr, 405
Norwegian songstress Farao first appeared in January with a free download of haunting track ‘Forces’. Her fragile and otherworldly tone instantly connected with the media, picking up tastemaker support from The Line Of Best Fit’s editor-in-chief, Rich Thane and radio support from Lauren Laverne’s on BBC 6music.
Farao has just recorded her debut EP in Iceland with Mike Lindsay from experimental folk group Tunng. The four track record is set for release in the Autumn, but is preceded by a debut digital single ‘Skin’ set for release on April 22nd.
A busy touring schedule is on the cards, including tour dates across UK/EU with Paper Aeroplanes and Moddi
