Biography

Slow Magic are one of those post-Internet groups shrouded in mystery; a Google search reveals only Bandcamp, Soundcloud, and Vimeo pages, themselves not revealing much else.

A cross between the rising sounds of chillwave and dream-pop, and is balled together in a genre called, ‘shoegaze’.

First of all – and most obvious for sure – this one-man electronic music project is done by a guy that stays anonymous. All that we know is that he is from the USA, that he hides behind an animal mask and that he describes his music as “the sound made by an unknown imaginary friend.” And this is exactly what it feels like – familiar, warm…like made by a friend who knows how to touch your heart.

Peculiar Disco Moves are a Newcastle based band which mix booty shaking grooves, witty lyrics and singable tunes to create their own unique sound.

Peculiar Disco Moves are a high octane, up and coming North-East 5 piece band, their music a quirky mix of danceable pop tunes and colourful tales of British Life. Their self-titled debut EP received rave reviews locally on release last year in the written press (most notably The Crack Magazine and the Journal’s Culture Magazine), as well as much regional airplay, which included BBC Newcastle (Introducing), BBC Tees (Introducing), Metro Radio and Amazing Radio. The band are busy planning an album which they hope to be ready for Summer 2012, and are keen to spread their sound further afield.

The band have spent the last 6 months following the release of their self-titled debut EP, recording, and finding new musical toys and gadgets to coax melodies from for their first full album, and foray into Festival season. The harmonies (and trousers) have been tightened, the instruments primed and the synths tuned.
