The Wicked Whispers have become one of Liverpool's most popular new bands to emerge in some time. After spending most of their first year together playing an endless amount of hit and run shows around the UK, the band played shows supporting Echo and the Bunnymen and The Lightning Seeds on their tours as well as organising their popular hometown events called ‘The Butterfly’s Ball and the Grasshoppers Feast’. Led by local singer/songwriter Mike Murphy, The Wicked Whispers claim to take influence from folk and psychedelia movements of the late 1960’s but clearly add a dark modern edge. Following the release of last years sell out debut EP ‘The Dark Delights of the Wicked Whispers’ (which has since become a collectable relic amongst fans) the bands loyal fanbase across UK and Europe has continued to grow. The track ‘Amanda Lavender’ in particular is a fan favourite accompanied by a superb video directed by Liverpool photographer and film-maker Mark McNulty. The band release their debut single ‘Dandelion eyes’ on August 27th 2012 and to coincide have announced a series of intimate of UK dates.
